Edith Nutescu is Director of the Antithrombosis Service and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Medical Center. Dr Nutescu also serves as a pharmacotherapist in the Ambulatory Care and Wellness Center at UIC. After receiving her doctorate of pharmacy with honors from the UIC College of Pharmacy, Dr Nutescu completed a residency in pharmacy practice at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, and a primary care specialty residency at UIC.

A principal investigator on numerous studies, Dr Nutescu's main area of research is in pharmacotherapeutics, with a special emphasis on thrombosis and anticoagulation. She has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on various thrombosis-related topics. Dr Nutescu has published many original papers and abstracts in journals such as Pharmacotherapy, the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, and Orthopedics. Dr Nutescu is a member of the American Stroke Association, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
